Description
Curry powder is a blend comprised of spices native to India, it is highly aromatic with a warm, bitter taste. The common yellow color is derived from turmeric, the primary ingredient.
Curry powder is used to flavor soups and stews, and is great for adding to sauces and marinades, it is a perfect match for eggs, chicken, tuna, pasta and potato salads. As a general rule you will get the most flavor from curry powder by frying it for 30 seconds or so in oil and/or butter.
