It is known as "Chinese pepper," "Japanese pepper," "aniseed pepper," "sprice pepper," "Chinese prickly-ash," "fagara," "sansho," "Nepal pepper (Timur)," "Indonesian lemon pepper," ''Sichuan Pepper Corns'' and it is used as a special ingredient in Mala sauce.
