Kirsch is a cherry liqueur created in Italy, Luxardo Kirsch de Cuisine liqueur is specially created using the naturally delicious flavours of the distillate of sour cherries and is intended for culinary use in various recipes including the renowned classic, Black Forest Gateaux.
Tasting Note: Kirsch or kirschwasser (from the German, translates as cherry water) is a clear, colourless fruit brandy traditionally made from double distillation of whole cherries. The best kirschwassers have a refined taste with subtle flavors of cherry and a slight bitter-almond taste derived from the stones which are included in the fermentation vat. Unlike cherry liqueurs and cherry brandies kirschwasser is not usually sweet.
